2D rubber patches are molded from soft, durable PVC with your design laid out flat — clean, solid color areas on a single level, framed by crisp raised borders. Tough, fully waterproof and lower-cost than 3D, they're a clean modern option for gear, workwear and everyday use.
Best for: flat logos, bold graphics, text and icons with clean color areas, tactical and outdoor gear, and anyone who wants the durability of rubber at a lower price than layered 3D.
Not the right pick for: dimensional depth or a sculpted, layered look — that's 3D rubber. And like all rubber, it works in defined color areas, so photos and fine gradients are better as a printed patch.
Care: fully waterproof and wipe-clean. Rubber patches shrug off rain, sweat, mud and UV without fading, cracking or peeling.
Common sizes: cap front 2.5–3" wide · chest / left breast 3–4" wide · sleeve 3" wide.
Going small? Flat molded rubber holds clean shapes and text well, but very fine lines still need a little room to mold crisply. If your design is intricate at a small size, we'll tell you on your proof.
Detail rule of thumb: 2D rubber loves clean, defined shapes and bold lettering with clear color separations. Hairline detail and tiny text can lose definition when molded — keep key elements bold and we'll flag anything too fine.
