Embroidered patches are the classic — dense thread stitched directly onto a fabric base, with a slightly raised, textured surface you can feel. It's the most-ordered patch type for a reason: it works for almost everything.

Best for: logos, crests, lettering, uniform patches, anything with defined shapes and clean edges. Stitching holds detail down to fairly small text.

Not the right pick for: photographic images, gradients, or artwork with dozens of colors. Every color is a separate thread — if your design blends tones, printed is the better choice.

Care: machine washable, inside out, cold. Embroidered patches survive years of wear, washing and weather without fading.

Common sizes: cap front 2.5–3" wide · chest / left breast 3–4" wide · sleeve 3" wide.

Smaller than 2"? Fine for simple shapes, but fine detail and small lettering start to close up. If your design is intricate at that size, woven holds it better.

Text rule of thumb: letters need about 0.2" of height to stay legible in stitching. If your design has a tagline in small type, tell us and we'll check it on your proof.
