Sequin patches are pure eye-catch — rows of shiny sequins that shimmer and catch the light with every movement. Many designs use a flip effect: brush your hand across the sequins and they flip over to reveal a second color or a hidden design underneath. Playful, tactile and impossible to ignore.
Best for: bold statement designs, fashion and dance wear, event and party pieces, two-color flip reveals, and anything meant to sparkle and stand out.
Not the right pick for: fine detail, small text or intricate artwork. Sequins are large and bold by nature — for detailed or small designs, embroidered or woven hold it far better.
Care: hand wash cold and lay flat to dry to protect the sequins and the flip effect. Gentle care keeps the shine looking its best.
Sequin works best larger, so the sequins and any flip effect really show. Common sizes: chest piece 4–6" wide · back piece 8–10" wide · statement patch 5–7" wide.
Going small? Sequins need room. Below about 3–4", there aren't enough sequins to hold a clear design or flip cleanly — for anything small, embroidered is the better pick.
Detail rule of thumb: sequin loves big, bold, simple shapes and two-tone flip designs. Thin lines, small text and fine detail don't translate into sequins — keep it large and simple for the best effect.
